Are Any of the monthly watch subscriptions good at all?
Main Post:
I like the idea of getting a random watch sent each month but I don’t want them to all be garbage anyone know of any good watch subscriptions that they’ve used?
Top Comment: I am a quality over quantity kind of person and have often found that the monthly subscription is more of a cheap dopamine hit of this enjoyment. It's great for someone who is still trying to figure out their style and tastes, but oft leads to watches that don't hold up very well. Life is too short to wear watches that aren't enjoyed. In all my years of collecting, I've not found a montly watch subscription in that of which you are asking.

I've decided I'm not going to be forgiving these shows that are voted in and then no one shows up.
If the next thread for this has no comments after one day Ghost Hunt will be canceled and we'll start setting up for something new.
Watch Dogs Legion: Hideout underground club
Main Post:
It would be pretty cool if the hideout had a fight club. (Not sure if there is) One where you could fight all your operatives that you've recruited. Maybe one at a time or add one ever round only up 5 fighters in ring. There is boxing ring at the hideout, but nothing can be done with it.
Top Comment:
I know, that large boxing ring can be used for more than just a tutorial.
Watch Dogs Legion: STRIP CLUB!
Main Post: Watch Dogs Legion: STRIP CLUB!
Top Comment: I was surprised none of them could be entered. You had to remember exactly where the strip club in WD2 was because there was only the one and it wasn't very conspicuous. So I see an entire section of the city dedicated to ass and titties, and I figure there's an entire buffet of half-naked whatever-passes-for-women in this game, only to find out it's the cocktease zone. Nicely played, Ubi. I can respect that.
Is anyone aware of any online book club?
Main Post:
I found a really cool You Tube Channel - Benjamin McEvoy's Hardcore Literature. This gentleman is super passionate and knowledgeable about reading classic literature. Through Patreon he runs a book club. However it is $25 a month to join, or $50 for the premium. This is a lot of money for this. But yeah, my there is a club on Discord or something that isn't so expensive, or just a few dollars a month. I'm really just looking to converse with other readers.
Top Comment: Come join us over at r/bookclub ! You'd be very welcome.

I just feel bad for any exotic dancer who has to get tipped in bars of gold-pressed latinum. Make it hail!

Watch out for Herbalife (MLM) "nutrition clubs"
Main Post:
Recently saw that a new shop opened in the Tremont Center in UA called "UA Nutrition".
https://www.yelp.com/biz/ua-nutrition-columbus
I'm already familiar with the concept of Herbalife clubs and after seeing some pictures on Yelp, I was right to be suspicious. It had all the telltale signs.
- Nutrition in the name
- Giant list of shake/tea options promoting weight loss
- Vague website
I'm seeing more and more of these pop up so figured I'd post a warning here if people aren't familiar. And as a disclaimer, I have nothing against folks that want to open small businesses and of course nothing against the owners of UA Nutrition, I just feel that the Herbalife business structure of multi-level marketing (which if you map out the levels, looks a lot like a pyramid. hmm.) is dangerous and exploitative.
One of the options Herbalife distributors have is to open a "nutrition club". This means opening a physical storefront to recruit new buyers or potentially, new herbalife distributors. While designed to look like the next best instagram-able cafe, they are not legally restaurants. This means they can't advertise as if they are cafe, they can't list prices for their products (because they aren't "selling" anything besides "membership"), and what may be the worst of all, they don't have to follow food safety laws.
The people that you would think they'd want to walk in to try a shake are listed in their manual as "walk-in prospects", not customers.
CORRECTION: As Chinny14 pointed out in the comments, This location actually does label themselves as a café and posts prices of their shakes. Both of those things are actually against Herbalife's rules. "Club operators may post a list of available flavors of shakes and teas, as well as any optional ingredients such as protein or fiber, but consistent with the proper operation of a Nutrition Club, they may not post, list or charge individual prices for these products or ingredients."
Here's some fun quotes from the official Herbalife manual:
"Nutrition Clubs are social gatherings, bringing people together with a focus on good nutrition. They are not retail stores or outlets, nor are they restaurants."
"Registered Club members may carry-out one shake per day from the Club"
"A “walk-in prospect” is a person who visits a Nutrition Club for the first time without a personal invitation and without having had any direct contact with or a referral from the operator of the Club or an existing Club member."
"It is not permissible to sell product servings to anyone."
And if anyone is interested in a great intro to MLMs, check out https://youtu.be/s6MwGeOm8iI
And here's a link to my source for the "Nutrition Club Rules" https://www.reddit.com/r/antiMLM/comments/kgbn4v/official_herbalife_nutrition_club_rules_just_as/
TL;DR If you see a "nutrition club" open up selling shakes, its almost 100% a front for Herbalife (an MLM)

Yeah one woman I work with goes to Rev Nutrition all the time and always comes to work with a big stack of business cards for the place. Some people just love being scammed I guess
Sailing / Tidal watch
Main Post:
So I'm wondering what the idea behind this watch was, and whether I'm missing something. This is the tidal version, the bezel has an simplified tide tracker that you can rotate. The regular version comes with a 360° compass bezel. With the 360° bezel version you can align with the wind and read of the points of sail (close hauled/reaching/running). The so called tactical planner helps with the starting position of a regatta. So that version, not shown here, makes sense. But by removing the 360° bezel you remove the compass reading of your points of sail, so what's the point (ha!) of having the markers? Also the tidal tracker is just 6 hours, not the typical 6 hours 12.5 mins. I like the watch, having a simple tide tracker on the wrist would be useful but the oversimplified representation kills it for me and the now useless points of sail makes me wonder what they were thinking. What am I missing here?
Top Comment: You are correct, there is a lot of gimmicks in watches. The terms marine, nautical, sailor, tide, celestial are fashion statements for them :P For a good sailors wristwatch, check out Casio wv59. Good price, 15 ppm and wave receptor 5. Patrick Mitchell performed some well structured testing. Waterproofing is not the best, but you can improve that yourself.
I now have undeniable evidence that there will be strip clubs in Watch Dogs Legion. Although the game is said to have a lot of interiors, I don’t know if these will be enterable.
